The Philippine Department of Tourism August 2016 Visitor Receipt and Arrival Report indicated that international tourist receipts generated from visitors to the country for the first eight months of the year aggregated to Php164.25 billion. Spending patterns of visitors for the month of August 2016 showed that the average daily expenditure is Php 4,095.32. On the other hand, the Average Length of Stay (ALos) for the same month was recorded at 9.65 nights while average per capita expenditure of visitor for the month is pegged at Php 39,519.79.
In terms of arrivals, the month of August 2016 recorded a total of 502,739 visitors to the Philippines registering an increase of 4.59%. On the other hand, the period January to August 2016 saw a total of 4,042,049 arrivals to the Philippines. This volume was an increase of 12.59% versus its corresponding arrival of 3,590,038 for the same period in 2015.
